Eligibility Criteria
The Khazanah Watan Scholarship is open to Malaysian students who meet the following requirements:
Undergraduate
- Must have admission to an approved university in Malaysia (a conditional offer is accepted) or be in the first year of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must meet one of these academic qualifications:
- 3As in STPM
- “Jayyid Jidan” in STAM
- 3As in GCE A-Level
- CGPA of 3.50 / 4.00 in Pre-university, Diploma, Foundation, or Matriculation Programme
- 35 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme
- Must have a CGPA of at least 3.50 / 4.00 in the first-year university exam (if already enrolled).
- Must be 21 years old or younger at the time of enrollment.
Master’s Degree
- Must have admission to an approved university in Malaysia (a conditional offer is accepted). Applicants waiting for admission can also apply, but the scholarship will be canceled if admission is not received during selection.
- Must have a Second Class Upper Division or a minimum CGPA of 3.50 in a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be 40 years old or younger at the time of enrollment.
PhD
- Must have admission to an approved university in Malaysia (a conditional offer is accepted). Applicants waiting for admission can also apply, but the scholarship will be canceled if admission is not received during selection.
- Must have a Master’s degree with a distinction or a minimum CGPA of 3.50 / 4.00.
- Must have at least a Second Class Upper Division or a minimum CGPA of 3.50 in a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be 40 years old or younger at the time of enrollment.

Selection Process
The Khazanah Watan Scholarship selection process consists of multiple stages. Only shortlisted candidates will progress through each stage.
- Stage 1: Verbal and Numerical Ability Test
- Shortlisted applicants will take an online test to assess their reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Stage 2: Personality and Moral Reasoning Test
- Candidates who pass Stage 1 will take another test to evaluate their personality traits, ethical judgment, and leadership potential.
- Stage 3: Assessment Camp / E-Tray Assessment & Competency-Based Interview
- Selected applicants will participate in group activities and problem-solving exercises to assess teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
- A structured interview will be conducted to evaluate their motivation, academic background, and career aspirations.
- Stage 4: Interview with Yayasan Khazanah Management
- Successful candidates will have an in-depth interview with the management team to further assess their qualifications and potential contributions.
- Stage 5: Interview with Yayasan Khazanah Trustees
- Finalists will be interviewed by the Yayasan Khazanah trustees, who will make the final decision on scholarship recipients.
- Final Selection & Scholarship Offer

Scholarship Duration
